AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win the league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years older, was the youngest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. She ended 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same year, making her the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was subsequently awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
