Dennings was in a relationship with Nick Zano from 2011-2014, her co-star in "2 Broke Girls". When their romance ended her relationship with Nick Zano, she started dating Josh Groban. They remained together until 2016. Dennings got to know the musician Andrew W.K. at the beginning of 2021. They soon started being romantically involved. They announced their engagement to each other in May 2021. Dennings has been a fan of music since 2014, was Dennings's first crush. Dennings was Jewish but has said she does not consider religion to be an integral part of her day life. She enjoys reading, gardening and drawing. At one point in her life she planned to go to the art institute, but it was ruined after the entire portfolio of her was destroyed in a flood. Then she decided to interpret this experience as a message and pursue acting. She does not drink or smoke cigarettes, and likes meditation in Transcendental form. Additionally, she is a strong advocate of the rights of animals and has her own cat as a pet.
